Shadrack Frimpong, Founder & CEO

Born and raised in Tarkwa Breman, a small village in the Western Region of Ghana, Shadrack wouldn’t let anything come between him and his dreams. As the son of a peasant farmer and charcoal seller, he had two options: become a farmer or start a family. Education was secondary.

However, he broke away from tradition and chose education. With the aid of scholarships and self-support from street jobs, Shadrack was able to graduate from Opoku Ware School, Kumasi, Ghana, in 2011 in General Science. He then attended the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Biology in 2015.

At the University of Pennsylvania, he was one of five students in his graduating class who was awarded the prestigious President’s Engagement Prize. Shadrack utilized this prize as seed funding to establish the Tarkwa Breman Girls’ School and Tarkwa Breman Community Clinic, forming the foundation of Cocoa360.

Susi Neher, COO

Upon matriculating into Boston University’s Kilachand Honors College, Susi knew that her passion for international development and interest in learning about the political, economic and social systems of sub-Saharan Africa would drive her studies. She graduated with a Bachelors Degree in International Relations and African Studies from the Pardee School of Global Studies in 2016.

After graduating, Susi joined the Gardens for Health International team, where she served first as U.S. Operations Associate and later as the Managing Director. Her work focused on creating and improving internal systems at small- to medium-sized nonprofit organizations, a skillset that would lead her to Cocoa360.

Susi met Shadrack in the fall of 2017, and became immediately excited about Cocoa360’s work and invested in its success. She joined the Cocoa360 team full-time in September 2018, and currently serves as the COO, overseeing Operations across the organization’s Tarkwa Breman, London, and Boston offices.
